Pulse induction detectors are ideal and in most cases essential to conduct a serious and thorough detection of treasure chests, spoils of war, coffers, monetary deposits, gold, silver, bronze, jewelry, arms and etc. These PI devices offer a great soil penetration depth with ease. The Deepers X5, for example, with the use of a simple Round Search Coil will detect any metal object from the soil surface down to 130 cm (51 in) deep (or down to more than 4 meters (13.12 ft) with Frame coil).
Fundamental knowledge about the pulse detectors
The basics of the PI metal detectors are rather simple and have been well-known for several decades, but the latest advances in electronics assure you an essential supremacy in terms of soil penetration and effectiveness in detection.
The electronics unit of the detector emits an electromagnetic signal through the search coil of at an intensity of 50 to 150 cycles per second. This signal will penetrate the soil at the depth that highly depends on the power of the detector and its search coil.
If this signal, on its path, reaches any metallic conductor (magnetic or not), it will produce a countercurrent or a secondary field which is then recognized by the detector.
With a Pulse Induction detector, the soil penetration is directly dependent on the quality of the utilized electronics and the technology used in making the search coil. We (and many Deepers customers) can confidently confirm that the highest quality PI devices and their accessories, such as Deepers X5 and its Hypersensitive Search Coil, will reach down to 2.5 meters (8.2 ft) and more than 4 meters (13.12 ft) for big metal objects.
